Parkano Geopark route
The Parkano Geopark route takes you from Parkano center to the old peat industry village of Lapinneva, then following ridge landscapes to Harjulampi swimming beach and further to Vuorijärvi, where Isosaari beach is a short distance from the route. From Vuorijärvi, the route continues along Karviantie toward Vuorijoki and back to Parkano center.
The route mainly follows paved roads and streets. Between Harjulampi and Vuorijärvi, there is a 7.5 km stretch of gravel road.

From the market square, head to Parkanontie and continue south. About 600 m ahead, go straight through the roundabout, and 900 m further, turn left onto Kalliotie. Kalliotie passes under road 3. Continue on Kalliotie to the T-junction, where turn left onto Teollisuustie, continuing south. After passing under Porintie, the road name changes to Kissakivenkatu. Continue on it for 1.3 km, then turn left onto Porintie, which is followed for 2.7 km. In Lapinneva, turn right onto Kostulantie and follow it through the village of Lapinneva. About 800 m later, the road crosses the Parkano - Niinisalo railway and immediately after the old Lapinneva peat railway.
The route continues along Kostulantie. About 1.4 km ahead on the left side of the road is Harjulampi swimming beach. From the beach, continue on Kostulantie, which turns into a gravel road after about 200 m. About 700 m from here, continue straight at the four-way junction. Continue on Kostulantie past Hanhijärvi. At a four-way junction 2.7 km ahead, turn right for access to Isosaari beach. The route continues straight north from the junction, and 4 km later at a T-junction, turn right onto Karviantie, which is paved.
Continue on Karviantie toward Parkano. About 6 km later on the right side is the Vuorijoki old forest conservation area. About 3 km further, on the left side of the route, is the Viinikanjoki lean-to and fishing area. The route continues about 1 km from here back to Parkano market square.

By roadFrom the south and north, use road 3 to Parkano and follow the signs to the Parkano center along Keskuskatu. At the end of Keskuskatu, turn right and about 100 m later turn left into the Parkano bus station yard, where there is parking space.
From the west, take Porintie according to signs toward Parkano center, then about 1.9 km along Parkanontie north, where on the right is Parkano bus station with parking space.
