Continue on the paved road for about 1.6 km. On the right is the Lapinkaivo kettle hole, Lapinharju esker and the famine monument.

Continue from Lapinkaivo for about 400 m and turn right towards Kauhaneva. Follow the dirt road section for about 5 km, which ends in the Nummikangas car park. There is a toilet and a Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas National Park information point in the car park.

From the Nummikangas parking area, continue on the boomed section of road closed to motor vehicles. After about 600 m, on the right is the Nummikangas campfire site, well and observation tower, as well as a toilet.

From the campfire site, the road will continue, narrowing and crossing Kauhaneva. At about 400 m, a duckboard trail branches to the right, along which you can reach the shore of Kauhalammi by foot. The duckboard route around the lake is reserved for walking.

Continue straight from the junction. The gravel track changes to a wide plank path. About 100 m to the right is an unobstructed viewing platform. The plank path continues for about 400 m until the route passes from the swamp to dry land. After 800 m you will reach the Salomaa car park. From here it is possible to deviate to the right to the Salomaa campfire site, which has a lean-to shelter, a campfire site, a well and room for several tents. Salomaa also has a toilet.

From the Salomaa parking area, continue on Kyrönkankaantie for about 3.5 km to Elliharju, where you turn right at the junction and continue on the road for about 6 km and then turn left towards Karhukangas. Continue on the forest road for about 8 km and turn right at the end of the road. Continue for about 2.7 km along the road, and then turn right onto the forest road.

Continue for about 3.5 km until you reach a T-junction, where you turn left. After about 750 m you will reach the edge of road 44. Cross the road and follow the signs to Lauhanvuori.

After about 2 km you reach the border of the national park. Continue along the old cart track leading through the park for about 3.3 km until you reach Lake Spitaalijärvi. There is a guide post from the road to the Spitaalijärvi cooking shed, which is a suitable place to take a break. There is also a camping opportunity on the east side of Lake Spitaalijärvi. Both have toilets.

From the shelter of Lake Spitaalijärvi, continue following the path towards the parking area and from there continue for about 650 m to Lauhanvuorentie. Turn right at the junction and rise gently to the top of Lauhanvuori, which is about 1.9 km away. At the top the opportunity to climb the lookout tower. There is also a information point and a toilet at the top.

From the top of Lauhanvuori, the route continues east, towards Muurahainen. Continue for about 1.1 km and turn left. The route now follows the old Selkätie forest road. About 1 km away is the intersection of four roads, from where the road turns to Lauha hut, which is about 700 m away. The route continues directly along the Selkätie.

After about 1 km, a boomed road turns left, along which you can reach the Kärkikeidas day hut, about 400 m from the route. From this junction, continue straight along Selkätie for about 1.9 km, and then turn right at the junction onto a slightly grassy road.

Continue this track for about 2.4 km. The track ends at the intersection of a forest road. Turn right and continue for about 550 m. Then turn left onto the cart path, which is about 200 m away from the Paholuoma lean-to shelter maintained by the local parish. The shelter has firewood and a toilet.

From the lean-to shelter of Paholuoma, continue along the path for about 300 m and turn left and immediately after reaching the forest road to the right and continue for about 500 m to the next junction. Turn right and continue gently on the forest road for about 3 km. The road branches off in three directions, the middle of the road branches is selected and it is continued for about 3.5 km.

Reach road 44, turn left and continue for 3.3 km to the Kirveskylä intersection. Turn right. Continue for about 1.4 km along the village road. The scenery to the left opens into the Hyypänjoki Valley. When you reach Pajuluoma, turn right onto the field road and continue for about 600 m.

Reach the edge of the forest and continue on the forest road for about 700 m. The most demanding part of the route follows, when the route descends steeply, at a distance of about 50 m to the bottom of Katikankanjoni ravine. The route runs along an old cart track at the bottom of the ravine for about 100 m and then rises relatively steeply up from the ravine. At the bottom of Katikankanjoni, it is possible to walk and explore the Kolmentuulenlakki hill, which rises on the left.

After ascending about 200 m from the canyon, the route continues along the old cart track. About 350 m to the left, a path leads to the lean-to shelter of Katikankanjoni, which also has a toilet. 250 m from the intersection of the lean-to shelter, the route turns left and follows the Kiviluoma road for about 2 km, and then turns right onto the forest road leading to Nummijärvi. This road is now driven for about 9 km until you reach Nummilahdentie. Turn right, drive about 1.8 km and turn left at the junction.
