Hämes-Havunen

Hämes-Havunen is located in the nationally valuable Hyypänjokilaakso landscape area. It is also a nationally valuable building heritage site, which is closely related to the history of the settlement of Kauhajoki.

Hämes-Havunen's two-story residential buildings painted with red in the middle of field landscapes represent a traditional Ostrobothnia country landscape. Hämes-Havunen's residential and other buildings are grouped into a compact entity around the courtyard enclosed by the buildings. Hämes-Havunen is therefore rare, as there are two enclosed courtyards instead of one, and not much similar structures have survived to this day.

Nowadays, many events and parties are organized in the milieu of Hämes-Havunen.
