Geopark Rangers

Lauhanvuori – Hämeenkangas Geopark has 15 trained Geopark Rangers, who will provide you with an in-depth introduction to the story and special features of Geopark.

Geopark Rangers serve as guides for both visitor groups and schoolchildren. In addition to information on Geopark, they tell groups about phenomena in the area, such as its unique nature and culture, and organise field theme days and orienteering hunts for school classes, 4H club members and students.

Did you know?

Katikankanjoni Canyon was a sandy expanse 9,000 years ago, and the water flowing from Kauhaneva and Kauhajärvi have gradually carved out the canyon.

Many Geopark Rangers have extensive specialised expertise in, for example, the impact of nature on well-being, species, cultural history and local business life. Some of them are also Ranger trainers.
