Alpo's savanna

There are around 150 sculptures on display in the yard of the self-taught artist Alpo Koivumäki. In Alpo's hands, other people's scraps and waste have been bent into various expressive animal figures for decades. In the exhibition, you can get to know both native and exotic animal species, from cranes to moose and crocodiles to giraffes.

The sculpture park Alpo’s savanna has been open to the public in its current extent since 2018. Many of Alpo's works have also been on display in various exhibitions in Finland and abroad. Association for Rural Culture and Education chose Alpo Koivumäki as the self-taught artist of 2023.
