Lauhanvuori - Hämeenkangas Geopark photo contest

Rules

• The photo competition is organized by Lauhanvuori – Hämeenkangas Geopark. Only individuals can participate in the competition. It is open to everyone except for Geopark staff and their families.
• The competition entries must be digital photos. We only accept images in JPG format.
• Entries must be photos taken within the Lauhanvuori – Hämeenkangas Geopark area (Kankaanpää, Karvia, Jämijärvi, Siikainen, Parkano, Kihniö, Kauhajoki, Isojoki, and Karijoki). Name the photo in a way that indicates the location where it was taken.
• The images must be original, taken by the participant, and may not be altered in any way, such as by removing, adding, flipping, or distorting objects in the photo. Exceptions are standard image editing actions (dust removal, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color, and contrast, etc.).
• Each participant may submit one (1) photo for the competition.
• The photo must not infringe upon the trademark rights, copyrights, moral rights, intellectual property rights, or privacy rights of any community or individual. No third party may influence the content of the images.
• Consent must be obtained from any individuals who appear in the photos.
• The competition is part of an international photo competition organized by UNESCO’s Global Geoparks Network (GGN) called Earth Visual Odyssey.
• There are three levels in the competition: local, national, and international. The jury of Lauhanvuori – Hämeenkangas Geopark will select three photos to participate in the national competition of Finland’s Geoparks. All five UNESCO Geoparks in Finland will organize a photo competition in the autumn of 2024. Each Geopark will select the three best photos from their own competition, and from these, the three best photos from Finland’s Geoparks will be chosen. With the photographer’s consent, the winning photos from Finland will be submitted to the international competition organized by the Global Geoparks Network (GGN).
• The organizer has the right to publish the photos and winning images from the competition on social media channels and their website, without additional compensation.
• Unauthorized transfer of the images to third parties is prohibited. The copyright of the images remains with the photographer. The organizer may only use the images submitted for the competition after the competition with the photographer’s permission. The organizer is not allowed to edit or alter the content or crop the image without the photographer’s consent.
• The personal information provided upon entry will be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Act. Please read Lauhanvuori – Hämeenkangas Geopark’s privacy policy.
• The names of the winners from the draw and the jury-selected winners may be published on the Lauhanvuori – Hämeenkangas Geopark website and social media channels.
• Winners will be contacted personally.
