Aitoneva Peat Museum presents the history of peat production in Finland. Industrial-scale energy peat production began in Aitoneva during World War II, and many methods of peat extraction and processing were developed here. The machinery used in the work has been colorful over the years. Dive into another world with exotic peat lifting machines.
The museum consists of an indoor exhibition, which is open during the summer, and an open-air exhibition, which is open all year round. Stories and props from decades have been collected in the interior. The open-air exhibition, on the other hand, consists of old peat production machines that have been collected for Aitoneva from peat production areas all over Finland. In addition to domestic equipment, there are peat production machines made in both the Soviet Union and Ireland on the museum hill.
The peat museum is maintained by Neova Oy. The museum is open during the summer, and there is also a summer café in connection with the museum.
