Härkönen says that he draws his subject from the memories of his childhood, the street culture of the 1960s and 1970s.

There is also futurism, scenes from comics and movies. Härkönen has switched from wood to sheet metal and the description of details to entities, e.g. people, said the sculptor in the magazine of Turun Sanomat.
