Hammerklavier artwork in Kankaanpää

Maarit Puhakka, 1997.

The work conveys strenght and harmony.  The visitors stop to admire the giant piano keyboards that are made from black diorite and white marble. The carefully carved and finished picture captures the eyes.

"The work symbolizes the struggle that artist must go in order to create something of their own wheither it is in line with the expectations of the audience... or completly different and difficult to understand.  The idea of the work comes from Beethoven's Hammerklavier work and of course the fact that working on stone time to time is hard hammering." - Maarit Puhakka.
