In 1826, it was decided to build a new church in Isojoki to replace the old church. The drawings were ordered from Carl Ludvig Engel. The master builder was Erik Kuorikoski, a famous church builder. Each, except the poor, the sick, and the elderly, was required to finance the construction of the church. The church was completed in 1833.
The belfry was built by Karl and Mats Hannus. It has two clocks dating from the mid-18th century. In 1841, Isak Honkaniemi built the poor man statue at the gate. The altarpiece of the church is painted by an unknown artist. The upper part of the church is surrounded by the beautiful paintings of Urho Lehtinen. The church has seats for 900 people.
