Jätkänpeti artwork in Kankaanpää

Toni S. Halonen, 2014.

The artwork’s name Jätkän peti can be translated to Jack’s bed. The form of the surface resembles the bumpy terrain of the pine barren forests of Kankaanpää. The rusted metal grid resembles a weaved basket under which protection a traveller can rest.

The artwork’s surface is allowed to live over the years, erode thanks to water and ice and the artist won’t mind even if plants start growing on it. The stone of the artwork was mined from the plot of a residential building completed in the year 2014.
