Kantinkangas airfield memorial in Karvia

The airfield of Karvia served as an auxiliary field for the Kauhava Airport, hosting fighter pilot training from 9 October 1939 to 9 July 1941. A total of 164 persons received further training at Kantinkangas to become service or fighter pilots to protect our country. The memorial was erected in collaboration by the aviation guild Lentovarikon Kilta, the municipality of Karvia and the local parish.
