Kukka artwork in Kankaanpää

The "Kukka" from 1995 by Michal Novotny. The name "Kukka" can be translated as flower.

The artist shaped an unusual and long goblet lichen which is rare in stone works. Novotny worked gently on the sculpture in a sandbox while thinking if he did not like to be in Finland the flower would become strange looking. However, he said that the kindness of the people made him work the flower more beautiful day by day.

Since 2016, he has been working as an assistant professor in  Czech Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design.
