Leikkistenlakso and Talvitienlakso mires

Leikkistenlakso - Talvitienlakso mire is a good example of a varied landscape formed by small-scale bog and mineral lands. The trough-like surface of the swamp is located in a depression, where the paleobeach formations dam the waters of the swamp transverse to their flow direction. This has created a series of bogs, where the dry, sphagnum moss-covered upper part transitions to the sedge-rich and wet lower part dammed by the bank wall.

One of the shore banks damming the marsh is located in front of Leikkistenkangas lean-to shelter. The damming effect of the bank wall is clearly visible, as the wall divides the marsh into two very different types of parts: the wet shrinking part and the dry curdling part. The mire has a total of five separate mire basins, separated by beach ridges

The destination can be reached along the Pirunkierros hiking route.
