Local History Museum, Karvia

In 1957, the local heritage association of Karvia established a museum in an old granary (1853). There are currently around 2000 items displayed in the museum. The collection includes, among others, wooden dishes, old textiles, and instruments of natural healers. The open-air museum area is situated behind the church. The area comprises the church stables, a smoke cottage, a barn, a forge, a drying barn, Lehtinen’s cottage and a cabin. 

The museum is not fully accessible. The yard area of the open-air museum is accessible for wheelchair users.
