The artwork’s name Maaemon rakastaja can be translated to Mother Earth’s lover. The humoristic flagstone gives the viewer a fresh experience about the magical powers of ancient stone monuments and takes the worship, rituals and surviving ancient monuments all around the world related to the ancient people’s worship of nature and restores those to the the viewer’s consciousness.

Villu Jaanisoo is an Estonian sculptor and the Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts’ professor of sculpting. He is known as a sculptor for his diverse use of materials and as an interpreter of the traditions of sculpting.
