Nummijärvi Church

After many stages, the small wooden church was finally built in 1933 according to the drawings by the architect Matti Björklund (later Visanti). The following year, the church was already in use. A separate belfry with two bells was also built in the church yard, with a rooster pennant at the top as a reminder of Peter and the importance of vigilance.

Initially there was a 7-tone Mannborg harmonica bought used from Ylistaro. In the mid-1970s, two extensive autumn storms felled a lot of wood from the parish's forests, which swelled the church's coffers in an unprecedented way. Thanks to these funds, a 7-voice organ built by the Kangasala organ factory was purchased for Nummijärvi church in 1977.

There is a cemetery next to the church, with a monument designed by architect Matti Visanti next to the soldiers' graves. The cemetery also has a memorial stone for those buried elsewhere, which is a natural stone from the parish forest in Kauhajärvi.
