Giant Cabbage Pasty – a delightful new hiking treat
Raija wanted to create a tasty and practical snack for outdoor adventures – something that keeps well in a backpack even on a long day out. Both the dough and filling of the Giant Cabbage Pasty are made using grains, milk, eggs and vegetables produced in the Geopark area. It is seasoned with home-grown oregano and lovage as well as locally produced honey.
The pasty is at its best warmed over a campfire. It can also be cut in half and, especially when hiking, slipped into an environmentally friendly paper pouch, making it easy to enjoy without any cutlery.
At Raijanholvi, you can also enjoy a GEOfood meal featuring locally caught pike-perch served with a white wine and herb sauce.
