“I wanted to design a very place-based work, and on that basis I set out to think about the words and things that combine with that particular place. The next step was to think about how to make things come to mind visually. When the sound wave idea came to mind, the end ideation was easier. I experimented with different words and phrases in a program that converts sound into waveforms. In addition to its clever puns, “Terve Kankaanpää” was also a visually pleasing form. Of course, the wave pattern had to be slightly styled so that it would also work in the physical world, for example in terms of hanging. ”
