The construction of the bridge started around 1905. The stones used were obtained from Tuulenkylä Nivus and Kivistö forest. On the spot, the stones were hewn into a shape suitable for their "neighbor". The bridge was built in winter, when the wooden truss structures of the vault were made on top of the ice. The vault was built starting from both shores, the stones resting on the previous stone layer, and the uppermost stones were polished into place. In this case, the pressure from both directions pressed the wedged stones tightly together. This is how the vault became self-supporting, where iron tie pins were used to connect the railings. The bridge was completed on May 25th 1906.
The bridge is a cultural environmental destination in Satakunta. You can still safely walk over it to the next resting place!
