Työn raskaan raatajat artwork in Kankaanpää

Toivo Lepistö & Ensio Härkönen, 2000.

The reliefs describing the different stages of brickmaking have been made by the sculptor Ensio Härkönen from Kankaanpää.

The gate is built as a symbol of Kankaanpää as a brick city. It is made of smaller-than-normal antique brick which was fired in a warm tone. The gate can be seen as the city gate of Kankaanpää, and after the local little boy came up with a name for it, it is called "Riemukaari" of Kankaanpää.

The brick gate was donated to the city of Kankaanpää by Toivo Lepistö, director of the local brick factory in Lohikon Tiile's 1960–1980s power years.
