"Throught my sculptures I want to take a stand and critize the world around me with it's phenomena without forgetting the figurative/aesthetic artistic expression of traditional sculpture. My stone figures are an example of the aesthetic expression produced by "carving". Making by hand is rewarding!" -Marko Mertala
