Forest Museum of Parkano

The Forest Museum of Parkano presents the forest work from the 1860´s to the1960´s as from the beginning of the sawmill industry up to the mechanization of the forest work. The exhibition space is open during the summer. There is also a loggers' cabin, sauna and horse stable in the area, as well as an open-air exhibition with several old forestry machines. There is also a nature exhibition in the museum's stable. The forest museum is owned by the city of Parkano.

From the museum, there is a duck board to the waterside and the campfire place of Kaidatvedet. There is also a two kilometres long Kustaa the Elk trail for children. The trail provides access to the longer Käpykintukka route.

You can move around the area freely, but you can only enter the museum during its opening hours and there is an entrance fee. Opening hours and prices should be checked from the web site of the City of Parkano.

From Vaasantie, highway 3, turn onto Järvisuomentie 23 and after 1 km turn right onto Rännärinmuseotie. It is 1.1 km drive to the Forest Museum car park.
