Lean-to of Käskyvuori

One of the abundant hiking services of Käskyvuori is a lean-to built in the rock recess, a real hiding place. There are seatings around the campfire under the shelter and next to it, and there is also a table and benches on the flat. There are great views and space for even a larger group. A “Lapp hut” built of thin wood inspires children to play.

There is also a cooking shelter, an observation tower and a Lapp hut. The cooking shelter can be accessed by wheel chair. The municipality of Kihniö and the associations in the area are responsible for the maintenance of the hiking services.

By road

From Järvisuomentie 23, turn onto Kihniöntie 2790 and drive through Kihniö municipality for a total of 11.5 km, turn left onto Itäpääntie and continue for 3 km (at junctions you should check your driving on Itäpääntie, and the road will also change to Karhusalontie). Turn right onto Käskyvuorentie and drive 3.5 km until you reach Käskyvuori parking area. A 500 m long path that leads to the Käskyvuori viewpoint and rest area is part of the Kihniö sports route. In winter, there is a cross-country ski trail.
