Local History Museum, Jämijärvi

The exhibition is located in two old granaries. The main one is built in 1856 in neoclassical style. It was used to serve as communal granary where over produced grain were stored. Then grains were sold to maintain schools and other social needs in community. It actually worked as early bank. Other one originally belonged to the parsonage. The specialty of the museum is the equipment of the manufacturer of wooden water pipes and pumps.

Jämijärvi municipality owns the museum and Jämijärvi-Seura Ry operates the museum.
