Huidankeidas trail in Honkajoki

The route leading to the Huidankeidas raised bog takes you from the parking area to the edge of the bog area and along the stairs onto the bog itself. The first part of the route runs through a seedling-rich commercial forest landscape, while the rest runs in the protected edge forests of the Huidankeidas bog. The nature and vegetation of the area still show the impact of the large forest fire in Isojoki - Honkajoki. The area burned throughout 1959 in the second largest forest fire in Finland's post-war history.

At the end of the route, there is a bird tower on Huidankeidas. There are no other rest area structures on the route. Return to start along the same route. 

Please stay on the marked route - Huidankeidas is a restricted area where movement is prohibited to ensure the nesting peace for the birds between 1st April and 15th July.
