Lauhanvuori hill

Lauhanvuori is the geological cornucopia of the Geopark area. In the geology of the area, you can see the phases of bedrock from almost two billion years ago, sandstone created as a result of the destruction of ancient mountains, forms of weathering that are tens of millions of years old, ice age strata, and the landscape, marshes and springs shaped by the post-ice age uplift. Lauhanvuori, which is large in area, resembles a fell in its dimensions, but a sturdy mixed forest grows on its top. Even the vegetation speaks of the past - the greenery of the ancient island stands out from the barren slopes once covered by water.

The top of Lauhanvuori is a supra-aquatic. The land above the highest shoreline has been above the water since the continental glacier retreated from the area. Southern Finland's highest post-glacial beach is located at the foot of the moraine calotte, at an altitude of about 203 meters.

There is a geological information point on the tower at the top of Lauhanvuori.
