The lower ring route of Lauhanvuori National Park is a cross-section of the geology of the area. Stone fields made of rare sandstone are a specialty of Lauhanvuori. At Kivijata there is also traces of a post-glacial earthquake. The spacious pine forests tell of the barren soil washed away by the ancient glacial lake, and in the swamps you get to know the special groundwater conditions in the area. There are also seasonal wetlands along the route. As a resting place, Leikkistenkangas' lean-to shelter offers peace and spacious scenery to the nearby nature.

The route is one of the top routes in Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark.

Head south from the parking lot. After about 150 meters you will reach a signpost, in front of which the path continues to the left over Kiviajata boulder field. A plank path has been built on the section crossing the stone field. Once you are familiar with the specialties of Kivijata, continue along the path to the east. After about 1.3 km, the trail forks. Continue to the right to the south. About 1 km away you reach the edge of a swamp. Cross the swamp along the duckboard trail. After the swamp, the path turns northwest. After about 500 meters walk you will reach Leikkistenkangas lean-to shelter. From the shelter, the route continues to the west, where there is a trail fork about 500 meters away. Continue straight north, you will see the rampart formed by Kivijada rising to the east behind the forest. After about 500 meters you will reach the signpost mentioned at the beginning.
