The best way to learn about the unique sites of the Geopark is to see and experience them first-hand. The geological, natural and cultural sites of the area showcase the development of the region from 1900 million years ago to the present day.
We encourage the day-care centres, schools and other institutions located in the Geopark area to visit the Geopark and its destinations. We also welcome other learning-enthusiasts from Finland as well as from abroad. Knowledge of the area increases the willingness to foster it and preserve its special features also for the generations to come.
The Geopark’s virtual guide contains tips that day-care centres, schools and other institutions can use when planning their trips to the Geopark. Complement the trip with services offered by the local companies, such as accommodation, food, guide and equipment rental services. The staff of Lauhanvuori–Hämeenkangas Geopark is happy to help you plan your trip. You can also contact the Metsähallitus customer service for more information (tel. 0206 39 5270 from Monday to Friday at 9 am. to 3 pm. or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org).
Explore the Geopark destinations in advance with Metsähallitus’ virtual guide map and themed virtual tours. Read more about the Geopark’s geological development and special characteristics, and about the geology of the last ice age.
