MOUNTAIN BIKING IN THE GEOPARK

Needle trails, forest roads, gravel village roads, open forest landscapes and enchanting bogs. The best mountain bike hiking terrains in Western Finland can be found in Lauhanvuori-Hämeenkangas Geopark, whether you are looking for marked routes or looking for your own unmarked trail.

MARKED ROUTES AND OFF THE BEATEN TRACKS

  • The GEObike route offers a ready-made tour of the Lauhanvuori landscape. In the heart of the national park there are two loops: 8 and 16 km loops and a connecting route between them (approx. 5 km). Routes are easy to connect.
  • Hämeenkangas and especially Jämi area provides both easy and demanding routes and a plethora of unmarked trails – pick your own!
  • The mountain bike route of the national parks in Kauhajoki connects the national parks of Lauhanvuori and Kauhanevan-Pohjankangas and passes through the enchanting Katikankanjoni.
  • The historic Kyrönkankaantie, which runs through Kauhanevan-Pohjankangas National Park, is an easy route through ridges and swamps.
  • The seasons have a significant impact on nature in the area, so there is something new to see at each visit.

UNDER THE EVERYMAN’S RIGHTS, MOUNTAIN BIKING IS ALLOWED IN THE LAUHANVUORI AND KAUHANEVA - POHJANKANGAS NATIONAL PARKS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CERTAIN LIMITATIONS.

RENT A MOUNTAIN BIKE

Various companies in the Geopark area rent out mountain bikes, fatbikes and electric bikes. Some municipalities, sports clubs and outdoors associations also rent out and borrow mountain bikes.
